El Sheikh El Shareeb
Project Story
Set in the mid-1980s, the story takes us back to a time when many Egyptian homes and shops displayed posters and wall calendars featuring a smiling elderly man pouring tea into a small glass cup, known as "El Sheikh El Shareeb."
Inspired by a true story, the project explores the life of a wealthy businessman named Alawy El Gazzar, whose story dates back to the 1960s.
Art Direction & Visual Concept
The project's visual direction is based on the concept of Surface Unfolding, focusing on revealing the top surfaces of objects and combining multiple viewing angles within a single composition.
This approach breaks away from conventional perspective rules, allowing different elements of the environment to be displayed more clearly while revealing their details and spatial relationships. By combining top and side views, the artwork creates a distinctive visual language that balances flat compositions with a sense of depth, while supporting the story's atmosphere and visual identity.
